The Münster-based human rights organisation Romero Initiative (CIR) is committed to a socially just climate change and has created various geocaching routes in the Münsterland with this in mind. Geocaching is a kind of modern scavenger hunt using a smartphone and geographical coordinates.
With the search for the caches, we want to send adventure-seekers on a journey where they can get to know the Münsterland in a new way on various routes. While you fight your way through winding paths in the countryside or the inner-city jungle, you will also learn more about the effects of the climate crisis on our city, our ecosystem and our everyday lives.
At the beginning, you can decide whether the search should be just a short walk in between or a longer excursion. You can choose whether the route should be more ornithological through the Rieselfelder, in search for graffiti close to the city centre or, for example, further into the Münsterland to the Ems floodplain.
The tour can be booked individually. All information on the individual cache routes can be found on the Romero Initiaitve website.
Individual booking
The tour can be undertaken individually and in groups without prior booking. All information on the individual stations of the geocaches can be found on the CIR website.
