City of Münster Climate department

(ehem. städtische Koordinierungsstelle für Klima und Energie (KLENKO))

With the motto "Our Climate 2030", the city of Münster is striving to achieve climate neutrality by the year 2030 and to adapt to the consequences of climate change. If everyone gets involved, we will succeed in creating a climate-friendly Münster of the future.

The Municipal Coordination Centre for Climate and Energy (KLENKO) was founded in 1995. It is responsible for coordinating, initiating and implementing climate protection and adaptation activities. In 2022, it became the City of Münster climate department.

Our tours: Climate walks through Münster

During the guided walks through the southern district, the city centre or through the Hohe Ward Forest, aspects of climate adaptation are made tangible on site and awareness is raised of how climate change affects everyday life in our immediate vicinity and how to react to it.

Topics

Where are there unknown climate oases? How do trees or green spaces affect the microclimate in the city? Where is potential for climate adaptation measures? During the walk, even long-established Münster residents will learn something new.

Individual booking

Group tours on the main topics can be arranged individually, let us know about your wishes regarding date, time and topic. Write to us!
