This cycle tour through Münster visits neighbourhoods where the Masematte language originated in the mid-19th century. At the individual stops, participants will learn about the background and special features of Münster's lost special language.
The starting point is the Bennohaus on the canal in the former speaker's neighbourhood of Klein-Muffi (near Wolbecker Straße). This is about the roots and origins of the Masematte.
The tour then continues to Sonnenstraße (Schlaun-Gymnasium). Here the story of the Weinberg family, who were victims of the Holocaust, is told.
The third stop is Rosenplatz, where the current handling of the Masematte will be critically scrutinised.
At the end, you can stop off at Café Malik and clarify any further questions over food and drink.
